Women & Heart Disease: An Evidence-Based Update

OBJECTIVES

  1. Summarize the pathophysiology of ischemic heart disease (IHD) in women.
  2. Describe both the common and atypical presentations of IHD in women.
  3. Explain an appropriate diagnostic approach for evaluating women with IHD.
  4. Design a comprehensive treatment plan for women with IHD.
  5. Formulate a pharmacologic treatment plan for women with IHD.

Keynote Speaker:

Natalie Murphy, PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC, is the interim associate dean for academic programs and an associate teaching professor and coordinator of the Family Nurse Practitioner track at the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Her current research and clinical interests are focused on cardiovascular health in women.
